This is a friendly, inclusive community for people with Rett syndrome, families, carers, professionals and supporters. By using the forum, you agree to follow these rules.
1. BE KIND AND RESPECTFUL
Treat every member with patience and dignity. Disagreement is allowed; personal attacks, bullying, harassment, discrimination, threats and abusive language are not.
2. PROTECT PRIVACY
Do not publish another person’s name, address, contact details, medical records, photographs or other identifying information without permission. Take particular care when sharing information about children or vulnerable people.
3. MEDICAL INFORMATION IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE
Members may share personal experiences, but forum posts do not replace advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Do not tell another member to start, stop or alter medication or treatment. For urgent medical concerns, contact local emergency or healthcare services.
4. SHARE ACCURATE AND RESPONSIBLE INFORMATION
Clearly distinguish personal experience from established evidence. Where possible, link to a reliable source. Do not knowingly post false, misleading or potentially dangerous health information.
5. RESEARCH AND CLINICAL TRIALS
Research information should come from recognised registries, research institutions, hospitals, universities or official study sponsors. Do not recruit participants, collect medical information or claim that a treatment is proven without prior moderator approval.

Fundraising posts must be for a genuine, clearly identified cause and may require moderator approval. Never pressure members to donate. Suspicious or unverifiable appeals may be removed.
8. USE LAWFUL AND APPROPRIATE CONTENT
Do not post illegal, sexually explicit, hateful, violent or deliberately distressing material. Do not upload content that infringes copyright or that you do not have permission to share.
9. KEEP POSTS RELEVANT AND READABLE
Choose the most appropriate category, use a clear title and avoid posting the same message in multiple sections. Search before starting a duplicate topic where practical.
10. IMAGES, VIDEOS AND FILES
Only upload safe, relevant files. Obtain consent from anyone identifiable in an image or video. Do not upload malicious files, copyrighted material without permission or private documents containing personal information.
11. REPORT CONCERNS
Use the forum’s reporting tools or contact the moderation team if a post concerns you. Do not start public arguments or attempt to moderate other members yourself.
